For Sevan, jewellery design is his identity. Born in Istanbul with an Armenian background, Sevan carried on his father’s legacy and began a full-time apprenticeship with one of the most respected jewellery houses in Istanbul at the age of 10.

Equipped with a fantastic array of skills and dreams of a better life, Sevan emigrated to Canada as a teenager with just $250 in his pocket. In a few short years, he developed a reputation as the most sought-after jeweller in Toronto. For the past 20 years, Design by Sevan has stood as the premier custom diamond engagement ring boutique in Toronto’s Fashion District.

I had a design idea in mind for a custom engagement ring (and now wedding ring) and Sevan guided me through some options and ideas, which resulted in an incredible ring that my fiance loves. The process was seamless and included diagrams and quick responses. We couldn't be happier with the rings. To top it off Sevan was a friendly and supportive partner throughout. I highly recommend him.

My fiancé and I couldn't recommend Sevan more! We had an idea for a design that I saw online but that would have incurred thousands of dollars of international shipping fees had we purchased it from that company. So we asked Sevan if he could recreate that design and he was more than happy to, even giving us suggestions about how to modify the design here and there so that all the side diamonds and main diamond sparkle brilliantly. He also educated us on diamonds and which Cs are most important and how to get good value for our budget. He was not pushy or salesy at all, always leaving the final choice up to us, and we never felt pressured to purchase anything from him. But he clearly knows what he's talking about and has so much experience so we felt comfortable designing the ring with him. The diamond also has a serial number in it visible under microscope so we could always see that it was the same diamond we chose. Both my fiancé and I are so happy with the final ring and so happy we went with Sevan! 10/10 highly recommend!
